Unlike Panasonic, Olympus Company reacted to the release of mirrorless cameras standard Micro 4/3 is quite conservative. If Panasonic released almost immediately advanced model, Lumix GH1, a year which has been updated to GH2, then Olympus has long produced only a relatively compact camera line of Pen, a “top-end” segment was represented only mirror devices (or more precisely, one unit – E-5 .) Olympus OM-D E-M5 is completely changes the situation.

Release of E-M5, Olympus launched a new line, called OM-Digital (hence the designation of OM-D). This line, in contrast to the compact Pen’ov, will include a full-featured camera, the target audience who are power users. That is why the OM-D was built, and the viewfinder, and ingress protection, the existence of which had previously been the privilege of older models of SLR cameras. Nonrandom, and the index model (E-M5): Manufacturer clearly alludes to the fact that we face an analogue SLR flagship E-5, only more compact. Indeed, comparison of the technical characteristics of the two units suggests that the E-M5 gives way to E-5 only the minimum shutter speed (1/4000 vs. 1/8000).

Rumors of his own mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses from Canon has finally been confirmed. Surprisingly, it is always walking in front of a manufacturer of photographic equipment like a camera produces one of the last. Canon’s new compact will be named EOS M. Mirrorless cameras are a fast growing market segment of photography. Compact and lightweight machines with interchangeable lenses provide high image quality comparable to the much more bulky SLR cameras.

Such products make Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Olympus, and more recently Nikon – Canon’s main rival in the segment of professional equipment. But forget about the other companies and focus finally on the novelty of EOS M. The camera is equipped with a 18-megapixel photosensitive matrix is the same as the recently announced EOS 650D. In this EOS M is almost two times lighter than its mirror-brother, and is easier to manage. At various regional markets EOS M will be available in September and October. Price in the U.S. of 800 $ bundled with a simple lens with no zoom function.

Camera EOS M uses a new standard for interchangeable lens Canon EF-M, smaller and lighter than the SLR Canon. Along with the camera lens company produces two series of EF-M (22 mm f / 2 and 18-55 mm f / 3,5-5,6). But the owners of the standard EF-series lenses for SLR cameras, Canon do not worry – from the extra spending will save them a special adapter. A similar policy – partial compatibility of lenses for traditional SLR series – is shared by other manufacturers of system cameras. This allows them to increase revenues without losing all devotees of the brand. At EOS M lacks built-in flash (Canon offers compact external exchange), but due to its high sensitivity (ISO 12800), the novelty can shoot at much lower light than most compact cameras and built-in cameras of mobile phones.

It keeps the striking good looks and metal body of it’s bigger buddy, but the zoom tops out at a shorter 24x. There’s still a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor and 3″ LCD, though, and the 1080HD, sweep panorama, 3D,9 frames-per-second, and magic filters haven’t gone anywhere either. Top ISO is down to 3,200, though, and as mentioned the Multi-Recording isn’t to be found. But, otherwise this camera does a good imitation of its bigger compadre for $100 less, and will hit the market in black or silver for right at $300.

The Olympus SZ-20 offers a 3D photo mode, which captures two shots of a scene from two different angles to create still pictures that can be viewed with the added excitement and realism of 3D (on a 3D-compatible display). The Olympus SZ-20 offers two 3D settings: Manual and Automatic.
The 1080p Full HD movie feature on the Olympus SZ-20 ensures the best video quality currently available in a compact digital camera. With Full HD, video footage is realistic, smooth, bright and clear. Movies become a fascinating window on real life when viewed on a Full HDTV.
