Most recently, NVIDIA introduced the most productive single-GPU graphics card GeForce Titan. Most complex GPU, numbering 7.1 billion transistors and 2688 active nuclei CUDA, became the heart of a new top-end of the accelerator. The output of this card has created a huge gap in the line of NVIDIA. Nearest accelerator, GeForce GTX 680, and the performance (1536 cores CUDA), and for the price (450-500 dollars) lags far behind the “Titan”.
It is unlikely that NVIDIA will release a variety of accelerators to fill the gap, at least in a generation GTX 6xx. The drive is made in 2.5-inch form factor (9.5 mm thickness), is based on the controller SandForce SF-2281 and 20-nm memory chips MLC, and uses the interface SATA 6.0 Gbps.
