iTunes Match, the music in the cloud from Apple

Recently, on the Polish market, Apple introduced a new service – iTunes Match, which allows us to transfer our local music library directly to the cloud icloud. Hence, we can then stream music via the Internet. In this way, we need not rip, for example, the iPad our music. In order to listen to us only need an Internet connection, including 3G networks. Match iTunes How does it work in practice? We decided to check it out!

iPad has only 16, 32 or 64 GB of memory. This unfortunately can not be expanded with memory cards. So go on holiday (a summer yet fully) we have to decide which songs we will take together, and will not listen to us. But what about the fact that your entire music collection can take with them and is no capturing it on any portable device? This gives us opportunities in Poland recently launched iTunes Match!

A little theory
iTunes Match is associated with the icloud service that allows us to transfer music directly to the Apple cloud. Interestingly, if the pieces from our collection will be recognized as the content offered in the iTunes store, it can not be done with any detriment to the service in icloud space. Tracks are ripped by a service to our private cloud only when they are not in the iTunes music store. In this way we can rip up to 25 000 songs! And even more, provided that these were bought in iTunes. It’s very much. For example, the iPad with 32 GB of internal memory could rip only about 3000 songs in a lower quality.

Nothing for free
Match your iTunes, it is not a free service as opposed to icloud. If you want to take our music to the cloud must purchase a subscription costing the equivalent of 24.99 euros (just over 100). This is the price for an annual service option. Later, unfortunately, still wanting to use the solution will have to subscribe again. In fact, in comparison to similar services on a cloud-based music and the functionality offered by iTunes Match is not a prohibitive amount. Match your iTunes purchase can be made from a computer with iTunes (in the Store / iTunes Match).

Scan-to-cloud
After purchasing the service will start scanning your local music library by the program. Then the pieces fit to content in the iTunes Store will automatically be converted to the quality of 256 kbps, even if your hard disk are the pieces with a worse bitrate. Of course this has no effect on the content of our collection. The original files remain intact. You do not have to worry about that your audiophile Apple suddenly learns the ALAC files at a much lower quality AAC format. Relax, it will be safe. In turn, with songs that are not in the iTunes Store? These are played as we mentioned, but with our local disk. Unfortunately, little will it take, because in that case they must be loaded directly into the icloud. Of course, this may take a lot zasu depending on file size, their number and capacity of our links.

iTunes Match in practice
Now that our collection of music was in the cloud, we can test the iTunes Match in action. We tried your luck on the iPad. You must first activate the iTunes Match with IOS device, because the function is disabled by default. To this end, we go to Settings / and turn on the iTunes Music Match (we need this to log in using the Apple ID). After a while the device is permitted to subscribe to our (good to know that we can hook up to iTunes Match up to 10 devices).

Ready? So get to work. Start the Music application. Then we get access to a library of music based on icloud. Recognize it after a while, because the individual pieces are marked with an icon of clouds. Just pick any song and it will be restored after a while. It is worth noting that the songs played are automatically stored in memory or other iGadżetu iPad. In one view, we do not have to download them again. Comfortable and practical solution.

Match iTunes is really a successful service. While introduces some limitations, it still is worthy of attention. If you can not part with your music, this is the perfect solution for you.
