Nokia company stop supplying cell phones with Symbian operating system this summer, and the model 808 PureView will be the last device on the platform, developed by the Finnish company. From now on, Nokia will be releasing smartphones only with the operating system Microsoft Windows Phone.

According to Nokia, one of the reasons for rejection of Symbian is a long-term development of running this OS devices. It is alleged that the creation of the device with Symbian needed 22 months, while the model with the release of Windows Phone is quite less than a year.

Of course, the main reason was not it, but the reduction in sales. In the first quarter Nokia managed to sell only 0.5 million devices running Symbian, whereas the Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone for the same period was 5.6 million units sold.
