Lenovo has set a goal this year to increase the share of PCs equipped with touch screens, up to 40% of total deliveries. Moreover, the proposed rate may be increased to 60%. Lenovo’s plans were discussed at a press conference held in the CES 2013.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese PC assemblers are confident that up to 40% to bring the share PCs by touch screens, it will be difficult, but about 60% can not even stutter. The world just is not produced as many touch screens. In addition, hobby models with touch screens can result in loss of part of Lenovo for the global PC market, since such models are more expensive than usual, therefore, are less in demand.

However, Lenovo is also likely to take the figures are not from the ceiling. On the one hand, the company is the second market share manufacturer of ready PCs in the world, are entitled to priority in the supply of touch screens. On the other hand, over the volume of production of these screens might increase, because Lenovo – not the only manufacturer who is interested in the production of PCs with touch screens.

Incidentally, during the CES 2013, Lenovo announced a one-piece PC IdeaCentre A730 and C540 touchscreen. One of them is shown in the illustration.
