Decisive move on the market of electronic books has made the German company Txtr. At the book fair in Frankfurt, it announced sales of the device Txtr Beagle, which can be purchased for € 9.90. Of course, such a low price implies a certain trick. Besides the fact that the device itself is very simplistic, it is assumed that it will be engaged in distribution network operators, partially subsidizing the cost.

The device has support for 3G and even Wi-Fi. There is only Bluetooth. It is assumed that, for purchase and download books Txtr Beagle will be used together with the smartphone, which have the appropriate application (until there is a version for Android 4.0, iOS version is in development). For books given to 4 GB of flash memory, but at the same time the number of books downloaded to five times.

Screen size Txtr Beagle – five inches, resolution – 800 x 600 pixels. EReader is powered by two batteries, size AAA, which reduced the cost by eliminating the lithium-ion battery. According to the manufacturer, one set of batteries will last for a year of work. Dimensions of the device are 140 x 105 x 4,8 ~ 14 mm, the weight of the batteries – 128 g

Currently, the developer is in talks with mobile operators in the world. It is expected that sales of new items will begin later this year.
