General Motors is developing a pedestrian detector

General Motors is developing a sensor capable of detecting the presence of a pedestrian within 200 meters thanks to WiFi signal from the smartphone. This means that your smartphone, you can already do many things, may be also able to save your life.

Manufacturers are looking more and more about pedestrian safety, Volvo had also presented its 2006 detection system on the XC60, with an automatic braking system. This time, it was General Motors that looks at the issue and it relies on technology for smartphones to protect pedestrians. Thus, when a passing will be detected via their smartphone, a warning message will be immediately transmitted to drivers who are just 200 meters away. Of course, General Motors believes primarily to people working near the voice traffic, which are generally more at risk as much less visible.
