New format for Dolby 3D HD and Phillips

Dolby and Philips enjoyed the salon NAD, to be held next week to present their new technology called Dolby 3D.
This new format seems very interesting since it was established to provide 3D content on a multitude of devices. Indeed, with this format, the two companies want to improve the display of three-dimensional images of almost all types of screens, regardless of size.
It is here as smart phones, tablets, computers as TVs. Contrary to what is happening, we want to impose on the market a single standard. It’s good for the 3D industry will stop to compete on the same ground, but also good for consumers who do not have to spend money twice.
Posted content does not require special glasses to work, while being compatible with existing displays requiring the wearing of glasses. In addition, the format is compatible with distribution systems that already exist.
Philips seems very proud of this format that could help the democratization of 3D without that one must change the habits of all stakeholders in this field. “By unveiling Dolby 3D, we present a 3D format HD capable of powering the 3D displays that do not require the use of special glasses and sizes, allowing broadcasters, operators, content aggregators and handset manufacturers to deliver a 3D technology of HD quality on any device, “said Ruud Peters in a statement, responsible for the protection of intellectual property at Philips.
With this new technology, both companies admitted that they wish to watch 3D movies is just as appealing as watching them on a regular TV.
Now they must work with companies involved in the manufacturing of televisions, Blu-ray players and other devices for their 3D technology is quickly adopted by industry. Dolby is already a major player in the world of 3D cinema, but will he manage to be necessary in smaller screens.
