AMD renamed APU A10-5800K, and A10-5700, recommended the use of workstations

While before the hybrid processors Trinity is still a few months, the company AMD has time to hone their strategy for moving the masses. For example, an exhibition of SIGGRAPH 2012, held in Las Vegas, the company decided to use as an arena for the premiere of the new representatives of a series of high-performance solutions FirePro – FirePro A300 and A320. New items for the first time for the range FirePro, are not professional graphics accelerator: a conventional hybrid processors AMD Trinity, consisting of a CPU to the GPU architecture Piledriver architecture VLIW4.

In the configuration of the AMD FirePro A300 is a quad-CPU frequency 3,4-4 GHz and GPU, clocked at 760 MHz and equipped with 384 stream processors. APU is characterized by TDP 65 W and the multiplier unlocked. The decision FirePro A320 promises better performance. This APU also includes a quad-core CPU (clock speed – 3,8-4,2 GHz) and the GPU c 384 stream processors, but the clock speed higher than the last – 800 MHz. Processor TDP is 100W, and the factor – is unlocked.

If we compare the data on FirePro A300 and FirePro A320 with information about the processors AMD Trinity, already received, you will find full compliance with the characteristics of new products flagship APU AMD A10-5700 and A10-5800K, designed for desktop computers. Apparently, the company just renamed Trinity top processors for desktop PCs, and presented them with sauce-making, targeted for use in workstations. In principle, there is nothing inappropriate, because the performance of their really high, even compared with back-end Intel Xeon E3-12X5 v2 and initial decisions of the NVIDIA Quadro. On the other hand, the use of a single family and GPU, APU, and only confuses consumers. As for the fate of A10-5700 and A10-5800K, they are likely to be available in retail stores, but certainly this can be said only after the APU in the price list of the firm.

AMD promises that the FirePro series A300 will be available to system integrators for use in workstations in August, but their value is not reported.
