Samsung has started mass production of ultra-fast memory eMMC Pro Class 1500


Samsung has officially announced the launch of mass production of modules eMMC, which use NAND flash chips at 64 Gbps, made under the rules of the 20-nanometer manufacturing process. Solutions are focused on the market for mobile devices – smartphones and tablet PCs, and the Samsung believe that eMMC Pro Class Series 1500, due to its high performance, will be used primarily in premium products.

In the Pro Class 1500 series includes units of 16, 32 and 64 GB. Stated Samsung speed sequential read and write are 140 and 50 MB / s, respectively. Performance in reading random access – 3500 operations per second, while recording – 1500 operations per second, it is four times greater than that of previous versions of the modules eMMC. New high-performance controller, equipped with eMMC satisfy the requirements of the current standard JEDEC eMMC 4.5 interface and supports Toggle DDR 2.0.

Impressive, and the physical size of the modules: for example, the 64 GB model is characterized by a thickness of 1.2 mm and weighing only 0.6 grams. In this case, the estimated Samsung, it can store about 16 000 files in MP3.
