As informed sources at component suppliers, Taiwanese contract manufacturer Compal Electronics has received an order for most Acer notebooks next year: at the facilities of the company will collect 36% of laptops with the logo of Acer. Based on the plan to sell the software giant in the next year about 30 million laptops, 36% relative become absolute 10.8 million units.
Wistron Company has entered into an agreement with Acer to produce 30% (or 9,000,000) of laptops. The remaining 34% divided between Quanta Computer (25% or 7.5 million units) and Pegatron Technology (9% or about 2.7 million units).
Interestingly, at the facilities of Compal Electronics will be made most (80%), Acer laptop with a screen diagonal of 15 inches, producing the remaining 20% will be engaged in Wistron and Quanta Computer. Wistron is also entrusted with the assembly of all 14-inch models, and Quanta Computer – 11-inch. As for the Pegatron Technology, it will collect the Acer laptops with screens 17 inches diagonal.
It should be noted that Compal Electronics is well provided with work for next year: not only that the company has received the largest order Acer, so it still will build about 70% of Dell laptops, and quite likely to get a very large order Lenovo.
